Coast Ranges
California’s Coast Ranges rise abruptly from the pacific ocean to over 6,000 feet in elevation. The Coast Ranges run parallel to the coast for about two-thirds of the length of California. They are home to a wide array of habitats ranging from redwood forests, oak woodland, riparian woodland, chaparral, and coastal scrub.
